Hobo With A Shotgun At the Circle Cinema in Tulsa

The non-profit Circle Cinema presents Hobo with a Shotgun, a camp-classic throwback, as its Midnight Movie for May.

Hobo with a Shotgun stars Rutger Hauer as the titular vagrant vigilante armed with a pump-action and an unyielding sense of street justice. Spawned from a fake trailer included with the 2007 Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez team-up Grindhouse, Hobo with a Shotgun has been fully realized as a wild ride of violence, mayhem, and hobo vengeance. The streets need cleaning from crime and corruption, and Hobo is the only man willing to do the dirty work.

Hobo with a Shotgun is unrated and runs 86 minutes. The film will screen only at the Circle Cinema at midnight on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28. For more information, visit circlecinema.com or call 592-FILM(3456).

The Circle Cinema is Tulsa’s independent and non-profit art-house theatre, showing independent, foreign, and documentary films. The Circle Cinema is dedicated to using film to foster understanding and appreciation of the human experience while creating community among the viewers in the restored historic Circle Cinema.

FearCast 2011: State of the Fear

To say that FearCast has grown in leaps and bounds would certainly be the understatement of a lifetime... or two!

I'm somewhat tempted to quote fictional TV news anchor Ted Baxter (ask your parents if you're too young.... Hell, I only saw it in reruns myself) and his famous line of "It all started at a 5000-watt radio station in Fresno, California..."

Except it was Tulsa, Oklahoma and we couldn't even afford a 5000-watt transmitter.  Thank God for the Internet!

2011 is already underway and with it Season Two of FearCast.  With the upcoming episode (Episode 5 with Corey Udler, Feb 5 at a special 3pm time) the weekly FearCast show will become "FearCast Live", but will otherwise remain the same.  In addition to "FearCast Live" we will be featuring recorded one-hour shows with hosts such as Monster and Ogre.  We hope to also feature new hosts targeting specific niche areas as well and plan to make announcements very soon.

We will also be featuring downloadable one or two-hour music mixes.  These will feature music programmed or created by FearCast personnel as well as tracks we receive from bands we interview.  We are also working on getting licensing in place for commercially released music from major acts as well.  We will be keeping you updated as things develop.

Our YouTube channel will be getting a facelift in the next few months as we move our video content to our own servers.  YouTube will now feature teaser trailers of upcoming shows and trailers of our video content.  Also, be sure to look for John Stirling to be doing make-up tutorial videos and clinics very soon.

FearCast will continue to expand it's roster in 2011.  Since we have yet to perfect human cloning (and believe me, our experiments ended truly horrifically), we plan to bring on additional help to meet the demands of our growing schedule.

We have temporarily shelved the idea of a magazine-style subscription for additional content while we explore how to best execute that idea.  We are open to any and all suggestions on what you would like to see available, what formats you would like to receive it in, and how much you would be willing to pay for such a thing.  Please post to the FearCast Twitter account @FearCastNetwork or post on Harvey McNommer's FaceBook wall with your ideas.

That just about wraps it up.  I'm very excited to tell you all about where FearCast is headed in 2011 and I continue to be amazed at the progress we made so far.  FearCast will be blowing out the candles on it's brain-shaped first birthday cake in a few short months and I just can't believe how far this strange, possibly ill-conceived idea has gone.  I lay all the credit at the feet of the amazing FearCast staff: Ogre, D, Dixi, Monster, Tech-Zombie, Stirling... you guys rock and this would have died horribly long ago without you.

Now.  As you may know, I'm a bit of an Apple geek.  So, as Steve Jobs would say: There is ONE MORE THING...

FearCast has finally made the T-Shirts you guys have been asking for!!

Now you too can walk around fashionably undead with the FearCast spokes-zombie Harvey McNommer emblazoned upon your stylishly dark t-shirted chest.  We have limited quantities in stock and have already gone through one shipment in pre-orders and are filling up requests on the second shipment.  Post a request on Harvey's FaceBook wall or in the FearCast Network FaceBook group to get yours as soon as possible...   These things are seriously hot and are getting snapped up faster than we can order them (seriously... they haven't even let ME have one yet!!)

We will be looking into other bits of merchandise and swag and new designs as we charge through 2011.  Tank tops?  Work-shirts?  Hats?  Bags?  Underwear?!  Post your thoughts in the usual places.

Well... the only thing left to say is a huge "Thank You!" to every single one of you listening, watching, reading, or otherwise peering into our sick, twisted minds.  We do this for you AND we get to do this because of you...  And we're only going to keep getting bigger and better.  Just like a zombie horde, there's no stopping us.

Except maybe with a shotgun.  You could probably stop us with a shotgun.

So, please, don't shoot us with a shotgun.

Good night and good luck...  (Hey two news anchor quotes!)

- Clyde
