Tulsa, OK. On August 4th, 2012, Circle Cinema will throw its annual slumber party for Tulsa’s most die-hard moviegoers. Slumber Party 4: Operation T.N.T. will show five action movies in a row including Commando, Stone Cold, Invasion U.S.A., Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, and one movie that will be a secret until the moment it starts playing on the big screen. This event starts at 10 PM and will last until approximately 7 AM. Tickets are $20 each, but guests who stay until the final film is over will get $5 back on their way out. Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, August 13th at Circle’s box office at 10 S. Lewis Avenue and online at circlecinema.com/tickets.
Circle Cinema Midnight Movie programmers Joshua Blevins Peck and David Nofire created the series in 2009 and have selected this year’s line-up. With no other film event like it in Tulsa, the Slumber Party is a special and unique movie-going experience. This year, guests can expect to test their endurance on five over-the-top action films that deliver lots of explosions, fights, gore, and laughs. Tulsans make it a tradition to attend the Slumber Party every year because Peck and Nofire show movies that are fun to watch in a group setting. “The best part is when the audience has a strong reaction to one of the secret films. People still talk to me about seeing the Japanese movie Hausu for the first time at Slumber Party 1,” Nofire says.
This year’s Slumber Party will also feature giveaways, vintage 35mm trailers, and a limited edition t-shirt created by Darshan and Aaron from Live4This design that will be available to order exclusively during the event. Guests will enjoy 50% off popcorn, soda pop, and coffee refills after they initially purchase them. Mod’s Coffee and Crepes will provide a complimentary gelato to guests between the first and second movie. Those who make it all the way through the final movie will be treated to free bagels from Old School Bagel Cafe. This event sells out in advance every year, so purchasing tickets early is recommended. For further information, call Circle’s box office at (918) 592-FILM (3456).
