Crawl or Die

From the Mind of a Monster

Monster Presents: Mother's Day

Hey guys. Got an interesting one for you. A Hollywood remake of the Troma classic Mother's Day! I'm not really sure what to think of this. Watching the clips below from YouTube, there doesn't seem to be much to it other than a typical Hollywoodized remake. An over abundance of dialogue that would make a blind person know exactly what's going on, but takes away from any type of just watchabilty. The hand smash is quite lovely though. You're probably wondering why I can be so open with this one. Well, the clips below are all from YouTube, posted by the studio themselves. Interesting that someone thought we as film fans wouldn't be just happy with a trailer. They posted 4 full scenes from the movie. Maybe more! I didn't dig much further. So please feel free to watch them and ruin it for yourself. This will only have a select run in theaters, so if you happen to be one of the few places that get to see it before it hits the $5 bin at WalMart, then you might skip it. Otherwise please feel free.

Monster Presents: Lovely Molly: The Path To Madness

What's up all! This time around I bring you a preview of a film coming out in May called Lovely Molly. I got to watch a short pre-film sub titled "The Path To Madness", that sort of explains the back story of Molly with some brief clips of the film. The short is set up like one of those true crime shows that do reinactments of real murders and such. The thing I didn't like was the extremely intrusive narrator explaining everything. Although that's probably why I don't watch true crime shows either! This appears to be a web series that will be a precursor to the upcomming film. I do have high hopes for this, but it does make me nervous that the whole thing will be narrated. We'll have to wait and see. This film is due to hit theaters May 18th for a limited run. Be on the look out in your city for it. Below is the first part of the web series (also found on YouTube), the poster, and a production still.

The back story starts as this: "When newlywed Molly Reynolds returns to her long-abandoned family home, frightful reminders of a nightmarish childhood begin seeping into her new life. She soon begins an inexorable descent into an evil that blurs the lines between psychosis and possession." Sounds kinda cool! It stars Gretchen LodgeJohnny Lewis and Alexandra Holden, and is directed by Eduardo Sanchez. Can't wait to see where this one will go! Now check out part one of Lovely Molly: The Path To Madness!

A Farewell: Rest In Piece Bill Hinzman

We at FearCast would like to express our deep sadness that Actor Bill Hinzman has passed away at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer. Best known for his role of "Cemetery Zombie" in the cult classic Night Of The Living Dead, he has also been in such Romero classics as The Crazies, and There's Always Vanilla. Throughout his long and frightful career he has also directed (FleshEater, The Majorettes) but also wrote, produced, edited and did camera work for various other horror films. The horror community has suffered a great loss.
