AAimon Releases Debut Album

San Diego's dark-electronic duo AAIMON released their debut full-length this week, with an exclusive full-album stream on Exclaim! Magazine. The self-titled album follows a string of internet releases, remixes, and the highly-praised Flatliner EP in 2012 (Tundra Dubs / Artoffact Records). Earlier, tracks from the new album were leaked by Exclaim!, UnReal, Side-Line Magazine, and I Die: You Die

AAIMON is a challenging record that draws inspiration from classic acts like Coil, Swans and Throbbing Gristle but is also influenced by new lo-fi witch-house electronic musicians such as oOoOO and Salem. The duo have called it the culmination of a year's work and "the exact album we wanted it to be." The album is released worldwide on Artoffact Records in both a 1CD and 2CD editions, as well as a digital download available on iTunes on December 10th. A vinyl version of the album is in the works for early 2014 release.

AAIMON have appeared live at SXSW as well as Calgary's Terminus Festival, and have also shared the stage with oOoOO, King Dude, Suicide Commando and Thieves Like Us. They recently remixed Aesthetic Perfection for Metropolis Records. The duo will perform at LA's Complex venue on January 12th to debut the album live.

Brand new Junksista video for "Life Is Unfair (And Love Is A Bitch)" - directed by Fabio Soares

The German electronic act Junksista has joined up with the upcoming director Fabio Soares  for their newest video which is available now on YouTube. The "Life Is Unfair (And Love Is A Bitch)" video offers a modern take on various Brothers Grimm fairytales with the catchy electro dance track as red line. Shot in a forest near Ulm (Germany) the video acts also as a teaser for Junksista's new album "Bad case of fabulous" which will hit the streets on November 8th via the Alfa Matrix label.

Says Diana: "With the video we tried to show that love can be consumed like candy - it's a quick pleasure for some. When it's 'done' they simply move on to the next sweet thing. Others lose their heart over it."

Hailing from Southern Germany, Junkista consists of the producers duo Boog & Diana. The duo offers a fresh and electric mix of catchy electro tunes, sexually explicit lyrics, sensual half-sung half-spoken female vocals, funky guitar riffs and tons of bass and synthesizer filled grooves.

French director Fabio Soares rose to fame recently with the "Woman With No Name" short film featuring Laura Satana, Arben Bajrakataraj ("Harry Potter") and french cult actor / singer Bernie Bonvoisin. Since Junksista did the soundtrack for that short film, Soares was no stranger to the band's sound.

New Music Video from Architect

German electronic project Architect released a video this week for "Immaterial", one of the new tracks from Mine, the project's sixth full-length. "Immaterial" features the vocal contributions of Emese Arvai-Illes, the Hungarian vocalist from Black Nail Cabaret and is the first single from the album. The video features images of a woman's face in a slow-paced, collage-like sequence.

Watch the video here:

Architect's sixth full length album Mine constitutes an appreciable shift in direction compared to his previous works by adding compositional and instrumental innovations brand new to this project. Supported by
well-respected artists such as Ben Lukas Boysen a.k.a. Hecq, guitarist and cellist Felix Gerlach, Dejan Samardzic (dsx), legendary producer, engineer and  remixer Paul Kendall (Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Erasure, Recoil), Canadian musician and sound designer Comaduster and Hungarian vocalist Emese Arvai-Illes (Black Nail Cabaret), Architect marches to no one's beat but his own, expanding ambitious electronica with comprehensive down-tempo song structures. Moderate yet decisive beats and precise keyboard and string arrangements build the foundation for Emese's exceptional voice, transmitting suspense, depth and sinister beauty with perfectly fitting lyrics. Mine will be released on double-vinyl on Toronto-based Artoffact Records on October 15th in both black and limited white editions.

Architect is a unique hybrid of IDM, electronica and smooth ambient soundscapes inexhaustibly explored by German musician Daniel Myer. Architect was created in 1998 and has since proven his mettle on a multitude of releases and on countless acclaimed concerts worldwide.

In 2010, Alan Wilder (Recoil, Depeche Mode) discovered Architect and this led to Daniel performing as a support act for Recoil on several acclaimed shows in Europe and the United States.

Swedish Pop-Punkers, Cat Rapes Dog, Return with New CD Sept. 3rd

Somehow we just knew we had to make music. Problem was we couldn't play and didn't have any instruments.

Described by Sweden's national tabloid Expressen as "a perfect union of Front 242 and the B-52's," Swedish electronic punk group Cat Rapes Dog is back with their first album since 1999. The new album, dubbed Life Was Sweet, is the seventh Cat Rapes Dog studio release and first on label Artoffact. The band gets right to the point and stays true to their punk rock roots, rarely pausing and skipping all filler. The album clocks in at a "fits on vinyl" 35 minutes, but in this short space Cat Rapes Dog will tell you to go out and vote, give you a lesson in religion, and baffle you with a sense of humour all their own. Manic electronic synth lines meet over-the-top male and female vocals on nine tracks of pure DIY weird. A vinyl version of Life Was Sweet will also be released by German label Emmo in September. A limited 2CD edition of Life Was Sweet will also be released on September 3rd. The bonus disc includes the best of the Cat Rapes Dog late-80s recordings, originally released on cassette and never available again. The CD includes songs from the cassettes "Cat Rapes Dog," "Nekronomikon," and "Property Produces Bodily Injury."
