Image Entertainment Declares A STATE OF EMERGENCY

A bio-plant explosion will forever change the dynamic of a small country town. A man will be forced to kill those very people he once held dear. On April 16th, Image Entertainment challenges you to escape zombie-ridden Montgomery County with the release of STATE OF EMERGENCY. This harrowing tale of survival amongst the undead is directed by Turner Clay (Interception) and stars Jay Hayden (A Warrior’s Heart), Tori White (Silent Night) and Andy Stahl (The Blind Side).

After an explosion unleashes the contents of a military bio-weapons plant, the unsuspecting populace is transformed into a roaming army of flesh-eating zombies. Trapped in the quarantine zone, Jim finds himself cut off, confused and fighting for his own survival. Contacted by a small band of others unaffected by the toxins, Jim sets out to reach their besieged warehouse. Becoming the survival group's de-facto leader, he struggles to keep order as they hunker down, fortify their stronghold and arm themselves against the attacking mutants. Fragmentary radio reports from outside hint at a last-ditch government rescue plan.

But can the survivors hold out until help arrives… or will they succumb to the living hell of an undead apocalypse? Will anybody survive?

Special features include two behind-the-scenes featurettes on the making of the movie and its visual effects, and deleted scenes.

Lord of Tears - Slender/Lovecraftian Supernatural Thriller

Lord of Tears is an independent British Chiller in the classic tradition of films such as The Wickerman, The Innocents and The Haunting. Our story concerns a man trapped in a crumbling mansion in the misty highlands of Scotland on a mission to piece together a childhood clouded by repressed memories and dark secrets. All the while he is stalked by an owl-headed monster, the antagonist of his nightmares. Lord of Tears takes inspiration from classic mythology, Celtic folklore and modern legends such as those of Slender Man!

Lord of Tears is complete, and has begun taking pre-orders via a Kickstarter page to finance an exhibition tour. It's been going for less than a week and has reached over 60% of its goal, receiving generous contributions from a Sultan (ooh!) as well as numerous dvd pre-orders from fans. On our page we have also uploaded our latest trailer, updating our former trailer featured at Bloody Disgusting and Film School Rejects some months before.

The script is written by Sarah Daly (the music artist Metaphorest, and cousin of Kate Bush), stars David Schofield (of American Werewolf in London, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator) and is directed by myself whose (past collaborations with Sarah Daly) has included works with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Channing Tatum, that have featured at Sundance and SXSW.

The Kickstarter below includes the trailer, and a video in which Lawrie Brewster describes more about the film.

Turning the classic horror film NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
into a real life nightmare February 12th on Blu-ray™ and DVD

Why watch a horror film when you can live one?

For over a century, fans have had their blood curdled and spins chilled by the vicarious thrills of horror films. Whether populated by ghouls, slashers, zombies or vampires, fans flocked to have their pulse quickened and exercise their scream-generating skills. But one thing remained constant: eventually the story ended, because it was only a movie. What if it didn’t have to end? What if the next level of horror was to experience a horror film from the inside?

*Mimesis, as defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary: “imitation, mimicry.”

In the film, a group of horror fans find themselves unwilling participants in a living nightmare that pays homage to a classic horror film. Seven complete strangers whose only common link is a love for classic era horror films are invited to attend an exclusive “horror fan” party at a remote farm. But as the sun sets, these strangers soon find themselves within a real life version of the 1968 George Romero cult horror classic Night of the Living Dead!
